Hongkong’s food is mind-boggling. I do not have time to try out all the famous Hongkong’s delicacies, but below are some of my favorite!
– Ichiran Ramen

One of my fav. stop in Hongkong.
& because it’s open 24hrs, we went there for supper on 1am. (減肥那事，遲些再算吧！)
FYI, Ichiran Ramen is one of the most famous tonkotsu ramen restaurants in Japan. It’s my first time here, & I heard so much about them serving kick ass ramen! I need!
The setting is rather quirky, I was sited in an individual sitting booth. I guess after a hectic day (in hongkong), the best form of communication is no communication, haha; just quietly enjoy the bowl of awesome goodness. Yes, just you, & the bowl of ramen, Slurps!
TBH, I quite enjoy the solo dining experience. Not bad at all.
I love how you can actually customize your ramen based on your own liking. You can literally customize your flavour strength, richness, garlic, green onion, amount of red sauce and noodles’ texture. I chose medium for almost everything, but hard for noodles. I like it chewy!

Writing this post while looking at the photo of this piping hot personalized ramen in the rich & savory broth, peppered with spices & a few slices of pork and a half-cooked egg make me hungry. T.T (why do I even do this to myself on 1am T.T)
– YueKee Roast Goose
(featured in the Hong Kong Michelin Guide 2013, with a ‘Bib Gourmand’ where it was categorized as ‘Inspectors’ favorite for good value’.)

I have always heard of “Sham Tseng Roast Goose, 深井燒鵝“from the TVB movies! & now, I am having it for real! Big thanks to our Hongkie friend, King, for driving us there. This place is quite inaccessible, but I still think this is really a MUST TRY! I would say, it is the best traditional HK fine delicacy I had this trip!
There’s one whole row of roasted goose restaurant at sham tseng, but King recommended YueKee, which is said to have the best roast goose in Hong Kong!
For appetizer, we ordered this mixed platter which is a bomb. It consist of cold jellyfish, fried intestines, braised goose wings, goose feet & goose tongues! The tongue was surprisingly good!
&… Here come the roasted goose!
I was never a fan of oily roasted duck/chicken.
But, this is different!
I actually love how F A T it is (I can’t believe I actually say this, OMG!), the skin is so thin & crispy, bottomed with a later of fats that melt instantly in your mouth. The meat goes so well with the fats, they make such perfect combination. It is orgasmic! Ahhhh!
You have not been to Hongkong if you didn’t try the roast goose!

everyone rave about them. Hence, we put it into our must-try list.

So, we finally got to this one of the most-hyped about restaurant in hongkong.
Little bao has no reservation policy, hence we waited for a good 30mins before we get seated.
We were there for BAO, so we ordered only BAO.
& believe me, that itself is already enough to blow our mind.
Imagine, the soft fluffy bao…
We ordered, the signature pork belly bun!
(Slow-braised pork belly, leek & shiso red onion salad, sesame dressing, hoisin ketchup)
The pork was tender & the sauce was simply flavorful.
Never a pork lover, but I must say, this is pretty good; &, the girls love it!
My personally favorite, must be this Szechuan Fried Chicken!
(Chinese black vinegar glaze, Szechuan mayo, coleslaw)
This is an incredibly pulled chicken bao recipe! It has got the juiciness of chicken, the heat of Szechuan mayo, punched up with the black vinegar glaze. Without a doubt, it’s one of the best chicken bao I have ever had. Seriously satisfying! I am actually desperately hoping that someone in Malaysia can make such amazebao now! T.T
We also ordered, the fish tempura bao.
(Fresh market fish, tamarind palm sugar glaze, pickled lemongrass fennel salad)
It was equally good (well, I guess there’s nothing is not good here).
Warning: the little bao is not cheap, HKD78 (RM40) for one tiny bao, yes tiny, probably finish it in 4 bites. BUT.. definitely worth trying, & probably turns into a dangerous addiction!
Even the dessert felt as if it is heaven-made.

Brought here by another hongkie friend. He told us that Lan Fong Yuen is one of Hong Kong’s oldest and most famous cha chan teng.
We visited the bigger outlet that’s newly open in Tsim Tsa Tsui. Discovering the cha chan teng culture in HK, in a more comfortable way.
He proudly recommended these, & my favorite was the French toast! It’s not over greasy, yet it remains the fragrance & sweetness of the egg toast. Noms!
The others was alright, but nothing much to shout about. (IMHO)
The stocking milk tea though, is really good. It is rich in flavor, yet less sweet compare to the one served in Malaysia. I don’t usually finish one full glass because it’s a little jelak for my liking, but this one in LYF makes me feel like ordering the second glass.

We were shopping at Central, and randomly walked pass this Gudetama themed restaurant. & since it is raved so much recently, we decided to give it a try.
We were here for this, the golden custard/chocolate bun with its fillings oozing out of Gudetama’s butt. Woohoo!
Initially quite sceptical with how it will tastes, because we always thought cute buns like this is more for the eye’s pleasure & photo op purposes. But to our surprise, though it’s not the best we had, but it is not bad at all. The moment we bite on it, the sudden attack of hot & creamy custard fillings got us all satisfied. Haha.
These bao melts heart.
Do order the tea instead of the coffee.
The tea tastes better & worth the money more.
TO DRINK (& party):
Hongkong is known as the city that never sleeps, & here’s a few bars/clubs that I’ve visited which I will definitely go back if I were to visit Hongkong again.

This elegant bar located in the heart of causeway bay, which is just 10mins walk away from my hotel (mini hotel). We knew about this secret hideaway through the locals.
The modern & sophisticated setting with a glass staircase in the bar with floor to ceiling glass windows that give you a bird eyes view to the streets & high rises of hongkong makes me “awe” the moment I stepped in.

Our friend, Lawrence recommended us Tear Rock, made of Hendricks Gin, St Germain, Apple juice, Lemon and Passionfruit syrup served in a teardrop shaped glass.
It’s beautiful, refreshing & easy to sip. I really like it.
Mamoz is indeed a legit place to enjoy a good glass of cocktail and quality conversations with friends.

“Try Arena if you are going to visit Hongkong!”
It’s a sports club where you can watch your football match, play beer pong, pool & darts all under one roof. Strongly recommended for those who wants to have fun but thinks that clubbing is too hectic after a long day! Guess that’s why the place attracted a lot of working crowd that would come over to enjoy the draughts on tap after work.
Unfortunately, it was jam packed when we got there, we don’t even have a table to put our drinks (even the bar is full!). Lesson learned, I will definitely make a reservation if I were to visit this place again!

It’s a restaurant during the day, & turn into a beat thumping club when the night hits. We were told that the Bangalow club is one of the top nightclubs in the popular Lan Kwai Fong area. This place has played host to a lot of celebrities & glamorous models, definitely a spot to party all night.
As for the price range, I am not too sure as we were brought in by our Hongkie friends, & joined their table. Heard that minimum spending per table is around HKD2, 000 (If I am not mistaken).
Well, there is always something to look forward to at Hong Kong, and there is always something to keep us returning. Bangalow Club is definitely one of it. #enoughsaid.

TO SHOP:
Hongkong is undeniabley a shopper’s heaven.
– Causeway Bay.
This is where my hotel is located at, & where Hongkong’s largest shopping mall – Times Square is. Not just that, the whole areas are filled with smaller malls, fashion shops and lots of neon advertising signs. Some of the shops open until late night, past 11pm. This place offers a little of everything, my fav. shopping spot in Hongkong.
– Tsim Sha Tsui
This iconic Harbour City Shopping Centre is located here, packed with luxurious brand outlets such as Hermes. Theyn also have got a whole floor of kids section, with brands such as Baby Dior (remember, you are at hongkong). Huhu.
Put the luxurious brand aside, we will find unique goods/services at affordable price at the Solo Radio Building, at TST.
What is SOLO?

Here’s a few hidden gem I have discovered, and totally in love with it.
– Mirmandainks, runs by a pretty tattoo artists.

– Kanya Garden, sells beautifully packaged cosmetic that’s carefully important from Thailand. Everything here is so chio, I lose it!
– Besides Kanya Garden, you can also get your fav. oversea products from Trendspot.
The rental for this unit is about HKD5000. If you’re interested, they do offer short term contract which is as short as 3months, just bring along your ID for registration, then you are good to start running your business!
That place is also equipped with an outdoor leisure space overrun with greeneries. Being so close to the city yet able to be surrounded by the lush planting makes one feels a lot better. This make a perfect spot for to chill.
– Mongkok
Famous for its market, do be prepared that it will be extremely congested! We went to the ladies market & sneakers street (where you get your statement making footwear, ha-ha!). Yeap, I got my Adidas slip on here!

However, the whole street of shops would all claim that they offer the greatest collection of sportswear and sports shoe in Hong Kong. You just need to be patient, glance through all the shops before your purchase. My slip on was selling at HKD890 at some shops, & at last I get it with a real bargain of HKD720.
– Central
We started shopping at the flagship retailers such as Topshop, Marks & Spencer, Zara, Cotton, etc.
Topshop was having a major 70% off sales, I got this top for MYR20 or less. What a steal.
Followed with the unmissable Abercrombie & Fitch.
Being the hub of Hongkong, central is filled with high end luxury stores. This place is the perfect spot to shop for international designers brands. We went to Landmark, with glamorous shop front like Dior, Balenciaga, Chanel, Armani, etc.
– Sham Shui Po
Located in the heart of Kowloon, & probably the most authentic part of Hongkong. There’s not so much of glam & glitz at this area, but you can fully enjoy the market experience of the working class neighborhood. The market is packed with everything from fabrics to electronics, accessories to phones.
For a more comfortable shopping & dining experience, you can opt to go to the Dragon City Apple Mall.

Brought some adorable souvenirs from Apple Mall, a place where you will be able to find all the beauty products, fashion attires and unique accessories. You will be able to spot some limited edition miniature as well.
Oh, we also reminisced some of our childhood memories, had lots of fun at the archade. This is the place where the couple would hangout to for dates in the old HK movies. Haha.
Then, we proceed to have our dinner at Cafe360. They offer a wide varieties of food, ranges from western to Japanese to Korean to Chinese. Every dish served is aesthetically pleasing, and didn’t fall short in taste too!
Worth a try if you’re in this area.

– Victoria Harbour Night View
I am a girl who love the city lights, my eye lays lost in all these twinkling & sparkling city lights.
The Victoria Harbour night view is something you will not want to miss. I was totally awed by this glittering cityscape, It is truly one of the world’s most fascinating city skylines I’ve seen.

Oh, I am deeply madly in love with the HongKong night lights.
I left my heart there.

Besides the night lights, you shouldn’t miss the magnificent panorama from the Victoria peak.
Have you fall in love with this concrete island?
“Riding The Peak Tram is the quickest and most scenic way to arrive at The Peak. The Peak Tram Lower Terminus is easily reachable by foot from the MTR in Central or by public transportation.”
But, we didn’t need that because our friend, King, drove us up!
